Andy Warhol lithograph Lou Reed Velvet Underground Andy Warhol lithograph disc Portrait of Lou Reed 1967

Medium: offset lithograph printed on a laminated paper disc. This Andy Warhol lithograph portrait of Lou Reed from the Velvet Underground era is an actual 45 rpm flexi-disc record. If put on a phonograph, it reportedly plays an obscure Velvet Underground track. It is one of the Pop Art print multiples executed by Andy Warhol and published in 1967 by Black Star for Andy Warhol's Index Book, an absurd and revolutionary volume designed as "a children's book for hipsters". Size: 7 1/4 x 7 1/4 inches (185 x 185 mm). A classic work of Pop Art from Warhol's Factory period, created at the height of the New York psychedelic scene. Not signed.

Condition: there is only minor wear. This disc has never actually been played and the center spindle hole remains intact and was never punched out.
