Josef Albers Homage to the Square

Homage to the Square is Josef Albers' best known and most iconic theme. The artist began exploring relationships between squares of different sizes and colors in 1949. Constructed on precise mathematical formulae, there is a meditative quality to these simple yet powerful works, and they are among the most easily recognized icons of modern art. In addition to Josef Albers Homage to the Square paintings on various materials including Masonite, the series included a number of lithographs and serigraphs.

At Affordable Art 101 we are pleased to offer beautiful serigraphs (silkscreens) after the paintings. Our inventory includes works from several different editions, and the size of each piece is noted below.
