Medium: pochoir (after the gouache). Printed in Paris for L'art non figuratif non objectif, issued in an edition of 1000 and published in Paris in 1949 by Lydia Conti. The total sheet size including margins is 9 x 7 1/4 inches (227 x 186 mm). The left margin is narrow, as issued. The theme is "Composition sur le mot Jaune (Composition on the word Yellow)". Auguste Herbin was attempting to create an alphabet to express words and ideas using pure colors and geometric shapes. Not signed.
