$150.00
Henri Laurens 1929 Cubist pochoir
Medium: pochoir. Published in Paris in 1929 by Charles Moreau in a limited edition for the cover of L'Art Cubiste. This is a magnificent and rich impression printed by pochoir master Daniel Jacomet; it is presumed that no more than 1000 impressions were printed and this edition is now rather rare. Image size: 5 3/4 x 4 1/4 inches (150 x 108mm); with text above and beneath the image, as issued. Not signed.

Condition: as this was the actual cover, there is some wear and staining to the margins.
Henri Laurens original linocut (1938 1st edition)
$150.00
Henri Laurens original linocut (1938 1st edition)
Medium: original linoleum cut. A nice impression on wove paper, published in 1938 for the very rare XXe Siecle issue No. 4. A later edition was issued in 1959, but this is the original, first edition Henri Laurens linocut. Sheet size 12 1/2 x 9 3/8 inches. Signed in the plate (not by hand).

XXe Siecle (Chroniques du Jour) was a deluxe art revue that was the source of many outstanding prints. It was published by Gualtieri di San Lazzaro from 1938-1939, and again from 1951 until 1978 (known as the Nouvelle Serie). Many important artists contributed original prints, including Miro, Picasso, Chagall, Braque, Villon, Matta, Indiana, Rosenquist, Lam, Dali, Zao Wou-ki, Matisse, Delaunay, Ernst, Poliakoff, Soulages, Leger, Moore, Kandinsky, Agam, Arp, Calder, Magnelli, Baj, Marini, Laurens and Vasarely.
Henri Laurens 1948 Cubist pochoir "Mandoline"
$150.00
Henri Laurens 1948 Cubist pochoir "Mandoline"
Medium: pochoir (after the papier collé). Published in 1948 by Cahiers d'Art. Image size: 257 x 197mm; 10 1/8 x 7 3/4 inches. A rich impression in fine condition (with a bit of a bump to the upper right corner); there is a printed text inscription beneath the image, as published. Signed in the plate (not by hand).

Cahiers d'Art was published in Paris from 1926-1960 by Greek art collector, writer and art critic Christian Zervos. The rarest and most sought-after issues of this art revue were those issued in the 1930's containing original pochoirs by Miro and Marcel Duchamp. Zervos had high technical standards, and these works are truly stunning.
