Claude Monet etching "Waterloo Bridge, Soliel Voile"
Medium: etching (after the Claude Monet painting). Etched by French artist Charles Waltner (1846-1925) after Monet. Catalogue reference: Sanchez and Seydoux 1904-13. This is a beautiful and subtle impression in sanguine ink, printed by printer Charles Wittmann on chine-colle paper. Published in 1904 by Gazette des Beaux-Arts and presented by the publisher mounted onto a green support sheet. Image size: 5 1/2 x 8 1/2 inches (140 x 217mm). Signed in the plate by Monet and Waltner.
Condition: the support sheet has some age-toning (as is usually found with this work).
Claude Monet etching "Promenade - Temps Gris"
Medium: etching (after the painting). This beautiful piece was etched by Auguste Lauzet after Claude Monet, and published in Paris in 1892 by Chamerot et Renouard, for the very rare volume "L'Art Impressionniste", featuring etchings after important artworks in the private collection of M. Durand-Ruel, which was at the time was one of the world's foremost collections of Impressionist art. This print is a fine impression printed in sepia/sanguine ink on cream laid paper, with a platemark (not shown here in this photo) and good margins; the plate measures 5 x 5 3/4 inches. Not signed. A nice find, with no others currently offered on the market.
