Item Code: WARHOL-SILKSCREEN-DOSSIER-2357

Description

Medium: silkscreen. Issued in 1967 by the Galerie Ileana Sonnabend of Paris for the Andy Warhol exhibition catalogue "Dossier 2357". This catalogue, now quite rare, was executed in the style of a police dossier to accompany an art installation at the World's Fair in New York, to much notoriety. The silkscreen portrait shows John Joseph H., who was number 11 of the Thirteen Most Wanted Men. The silkscreen measures 8 1/4 x 6 3/4 inches (210 x 170 mm), with pinholes near the top left where it was attached to the catalogue, as is customarily found with this work. Two pages from the vintage catalogue are also included, as shown here in the photos (the other pages are not present). Not signed.

This is an excellent deal for one of the edgier Andy Warhol prints, usually not found for this price.
